The RN4072 ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE
The RN4072 is First Union's version of the popular 801 model. The 4072/801 is THE best flavor producer available. Due to it's large atomizer coil it can vaporize liquids at a cooler temperature. Instead of burning off a lot of the flavor like other electronic cigarettes, the full flavor of your liquid comes through very nicely.
We chose to carry the First Union model because it has been tuned to run just a little hotter than other manufacturers' similar models. It produces more vapor without significant extra wear on the atomizer and battery.
PROS: Outstanding flavor production. Extra large cartridges and batteries means less cartridge refilling and battery changing.
CONS: Size and appearance. At 155mm the RN4072 is really big and doesn't look anything at all like a normal cigarette. Recent quality issues.
QUALITY ISSUES / WARRANTY MODIFICATION
Over the past few months, we have seen a significant decline in quality with the RN4072. When the problems first appeared, we immediately started searching for a replacement Penstyle. We enlisted many of our long-term Penstyle customers to act as testers, and sent them test kits from other manufacturers. We sent out a total 280 kits from 12 different manufacturers, but we were unable to find a higher quality replacement.
Since we were unable to find a replacement we were planning on discontinuing the Penstyle, but when we floated this idea to our testers we received a lot of requests to continue carrying the RN4072. Many of our Penstyle customers have tried other models and they highly prefer the vapor produced by the RN4072. If you're a Penstyle user who hasn't tried another model, please give us a call and we can discuss the other models to see if one of them may be a good alternative for you.
We will continue to carry the RN4072, and we will continue our search for a replacement, but because of all the problems we are forced to change the warranty coverage on the RN4072.

WARRANTY ON THE RN4072 IS FOR DEAD-ON-ARRIVAL (DOA) ISSUES ONLY!
We test every item before it is shipped, so DOA issues should be minimal. For those still interested in the RN4072, here's what we've been seeing in terms of quality:
- Atomizers used to typically last 4-8 weeks, and we'd hear of great ones lasting 3 months +. Now the typical atomizer is only lasting about 2-3 weeks, and a 5-pack will often have 1-2 atomizers that die even earlier (anywhere from a few hours to a few days or maybe a week).
- Batteries used to typically last 3-4 months, and lifespans up to 6 months were not uncommon. The good batteries are now only lasting 1-2 months, most are lasting about 3-6 months, with a few dying after only a few weeks (or sometimes, albeit rarely, even only a few days) of use.
All we can do with the RN4072 is continue to work on renegotiating the prices we pay to the lowest point possible and then passing on any price breaks to our customers. If you really. really love the Penstyle it will be there for you. Our recent shipments are showing a slight but noticeable increase in quality, but it's still nowhere near what we expect. Hopefully, it will continue to improve. Hopefully, we'll be able to reinstitute full warranty coverage and remove this notice.

The RN4072 Atomizer runs a little bit hotter than the DSE801. This allows it to produce more vapor without significantly decreasing the lifespan.
Typical atomizer life is 3 - 6 weeks with normal use, but proper care and maintenance can help extend the life of any atomizer.
The RN4072 Battery is a high quality lithium-ion battery with a 360mAh rating.
Although the manufacturer claims a life of 300 charge cycles, our experience shows that the battery actually has a useful life of 100-150 charge cycles.

If you don't use a case, please be sure to at least keep your battery and atomizer disconnected when not in use to prevent unintended atomizer activation. This will shorten the life of both the atomizer and battery significantly.
